***SAFE 05/19/15*** BEGINNER KITTY JANE IS AN INDEPENDENT LITTLE LADY – A KITTEN OF ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD!! YET HER OWNER DUMPED HER FOR NOT BEING SOCIAL ENOUGH!! JANE is as cute as they come! Such a sweet adorable kitten got a BEGINNER rating for the way she solicited attention and petting. Yet her owner didn’t like her independence and because she didn’t beckon to every single effort they put towards her to do what THEY wanted, they decided she needs a new home. The new home they chose was the KILL SHELTER and now poor JANE has caught the shelter cold and was fast tracked to the euth list despite the availability of antibiotics and the fact this is ONLY A SIX MONTH OLD KITTEN!! JANE wants to just be a CAT. She needs a purrson who will understand that not all cats are super cuddly and want to be held all the time. JANE DOES NOT DESERVE TO DIE FOR THIS AND ONLY YOU CAN SAVE HER LIFE TONIGHT BY CONTACTING A RESCUE TO PULL HER TO SAFETY.

05/02/15 Basic information Jane is a 5 month old black and white kitten. Jane has been with the family since she was four months old. Family reported they had difficulty handling and interacting with her. Jane is being surrendered because the family wants a better home for her. Social life and personality Jane lived with 2 adults and 1 teenager who is a 17 year old girl and another cat who is the same age. Jane has not been exposed to children or other dogs. Jane played well with her housemate but was not receptive to interactions with the rest of the family. Jane is litter trained with clay litter. Owner reports that Jane likes to stay busy with herself. Behavior Jane has not been given baths or had her nails trimmed because she is not receptive to being held or handled. Owners report Jane will struggle against being placed in a carrier. For a new family to know Jane did not engage with the toys she was provided with and preferred to stay busy on her own. Jane did not use a scatching post but would use the carpet or sometimes furniture to scratch on. When the family is home Jane does like to be where they are but also may choose to settle in to her own favorite place. Upon intake Jane was receptive for introduction but became tense for handling staying low to the ground with wide eyes but was not defensive. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Jane was easily replacd to the carrier.
