*** SAFE 12/08/15 *** JACKIE NEEDS IMMEDIATE VETTING TO HELP HER GET WELL BUT THE ACC WILL NOT GIVE HER THAT CHANCE!! Poor JACKIE was brought into the shelter as a stray. She was wobbly on her feet and would fall over if she attempted to walk. JACKIE was purring and very sweet according to the intake staff. JACKIE was said to have lost a lot of weight and they ACC vets were not sure what is wrong but said they would need to check for liver disease. JACKIE needs to see a competent vet and right away- but first she needs OUT of the shelter. IF YOU CAN HELP JACKIE WHO IS ONLY A 2 YEAR OLD CAT – PLEASE HURRY AND CONTACT A RESCUE . 12/03/15 19:58 Jackie is a 2 year old black female domestic shorthair cat who arrived as a stray surrender. Upon intake Jackie was receptive to introduction and loose for all handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Jackie allowed petting and was easilhy replaced to the carrier.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jackie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was receptive to introduction upon intake and had a loose body for all handling. She allowed petting and was easily placed into a carrier. She was also easy to handle during her initial medical exam. Please be aware that Jackie is being treated for a medical condition at the time of the evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Reaction to Assessor: Jackie was sleeping upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jackie does not respond; she is still sleeping and does not wake. Reaction to cage door opening: Jackie remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jackie chirps and remains in place for all petting. She begins to purr softly and leans into petting slightly. Reaction to being picked up: Jackie remains soft and allows all handling. Behavior Determination: Average Jackie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
