06/01/15 16:42 NAME Isabelle REASON FOR SURRENDER Owner recent lost residence and had no place to stay. RELATIONSHIP Isabelle’s previous owner found her as a stray about 2 years ago. She is currently about 2 years old. She scanned positive for a microchip. PEOPLE She lived in a home with 1 adult. She has interacted with the neighbor’s children who are all under 5 years, and she was usually tolerant or respectful while around them. Owner stated that the children would pet her roughly and pull her tail and that she wouldn’t show any signs of aggression. She is gentle, exuberant, or somewhat rough when she plays with her owner. She has not bitten or scratched anyone. OTHER ANIMALS She has interacted with the neighbor’s cat and she was usually fearful around him. She has not scratched or bitten any other animals. PERSONALITY She is a very active cat who has been described as playful, feisty, talkative when she wants something, confident, and independent. She is afraid during baths and usually hisses and struggles to get away. She doesn’t like being brushed or held, but she will sometimes tolerate it. She also doesn’t like being petted, but she loves to cuddle next to her owner. She usually is friendly if she is disturbed while she is sleeping. She likes to follow her owner around when her owner is home. She eats Friskies seafood flavored wet food and Blue Buffalo dry food. She enjoys Pounce treats. She uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. She usually sleeps on her owner’s bed. She scratches on a vertical and horizontal scratching post made of cardboard and fabric. TRAINING She is litter box trained and she has not had any accidents. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE She was very nervous during the intake. She was reluctant to come out of the carrier, and once out, she was reluctant to let go of her owner. She kept trying to hide and would shy away from me when I came near. She had a stiff body, dilated pupils, and her tail was wrapped around her. She allowed handling and showed no signs of aggression.

She has interacted with the neighbor’s children who are all under 5 years, and she was usually tolerant or respectful while around them. Also, she is gentle, exuberant, or somewhat rough when she plays with her owner. Reaction to assessor: Isabelle looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Isabelle remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Isabelle stands with tail up, head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She calmly jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Average Isabelle interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
