11/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Iris was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She had a tense body upon intake, but allowed to be petted and handled. She was very timid during her initial medical exam, but was cooperative with handling as well. Reaction to Assessor: Iris does not come to the front, but remains neutral in her cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Iris looks at the assessor, and then looks away. Reaction to cage door opening: Iris remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Iris was hesitant and closes her eyes as the assessor’s hand reaches for her. She lowers her head and her ears bend sideways, but she remains immobile for all petting. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Iris tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
