Note: Hilton Head was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was fearful during intake, hissing and backing away from the counselors during the initial contact. He was tense during his initial medical exam, and attempts to flee when restrained.
Reaction to assessor: Hilton Head was resting in his cage upon approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Hilton Head does not wake, he is too sleepy.
Reaction to cage door opening: Hilton Head wakes up and blinks slowly.
Reaction to touch: Hilton Head begins to purr and leans on the assessor’s hand.
Reaction to being picked up: Hilton head remains soft and allows handlng.
Behavior Determination: Average
Hilton Head interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
