***SAFE 05/9/15*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY HOUSE PANTHER HARRY WAS DUMPED WHEN HIS OWNER DIED AND NOW THE ACC WILL END THIS BOY’S LIFE ONLY BECAUSE HE IS AFRAID!! Harry is a gorgeous house panther whose owner died and when he got to the shelter he was fine. A staff member writes: Harry is a little bit nervous. You’ll find him in the back of his kennel trying to not be seen, which is easy because if he hides in a shadow all you can see are his eyes. Don’t let that throw you off, this guy just needs a moment to warm up to you. I took my time, I quietly told him a story, and I let him take his time sniffing my hand. After he got to know me, he slowly warmed up. He let me pet him, after a little bit he started purring, then he really opened up. He went from hiding in the corner to stretching out as long as he could. Don’t be fooled, when he shows you a tummy it’s still definitely a trick! If you give this guy your patience, he’ll give you a lifetime of cuddles and purrs. DESPITE THE RAVE REVIEW BY THE STAFF HARRY GOT A NEW HOPE RATING EVEN THOUGH THE NOTES SAY EXPERIENCE. HARRY IS A GREAT CAT AND WE KNOW HE DESERVES A NICE HOME AND A HAPPY LIFE. PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY!!!!

He lived with adults so his behavior towards children is unknown. He has lived with other cats. Harry is litter box trained. Notes: At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains neutral as I started to get closer but after a steady low approach using soft voices she relaxed a little and I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way.
