**SAFE 10/17/15*** HAPPY is anything BUT, since being brought into the ACC! This NEUTERED 3 year old was nervous during intake but did warm up to allow petting and handling. However, he may be intimidated by children so he’s rated EXPNOCHILD. But that’s just until he’s decompressed and used to NEW surroundings then he should return to his HAPPY self! Offer to FOSTER or ADOPT HAPPY… Give him a reason to own up to his name and guaranteed he will have a HAPPY life with you!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/12/2015 from NY 11206, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

10/12/15 14:02 Happy is a brown male tabby cat who was brought into ACC today as a stray. Happy appears healthy at this time. Happy was nervous throughout the Intake process growling hissing and not allowing himself to be handled. He allowed himself to be transferred into a new carrier with no difficulty. When an attempt was made to collar and photograph him he growled hissed and retreated further into his carrier not allowing himself to be touched. He did eat food that was given to him.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Happy stays the front of the cage, soliciting attention and rubbing against the cage front When spoken quietly: Happy stays at the front and continues soliciting attention. Reaction to door cage opening: Happy remains soft & relaxed. Reaction to touch: Happy started to growl while soliciting petting and attention. He tried to the leave the cage multiple times. During this Happy became aggravated and hissed at the assessor Try picking cat up: Happy growled while being held but did not stuggle to be placed back into the cage. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child At the time of the assessment Happy was displaying seemly friendly behavior, stays at the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention and tolerates all petting. Happy growled during most of the interact and hissed once at the assessor. Happy is displaying behavior appropriate for a experienced cat owner with no chilren.
