***SAFE 04/24/15*** CHIRPING, HEADBUTTING YOUNG CHARMER IS FIV+ AND NEEDS A LOVING RESCUE ANGEL – PLEASE GRANT GRIS A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Adorable 5-year-old gray and white tuxie boy GRIS, dumped into the kill-happy ACC as an INJURED FIV+ “STRAY”, came into the shelter with a wounded tail, which has been successfully treated (“GOOD PROGNOSIS” said ACC). This sweet guy CHIRPED and HEADBUTTED his way to a near-perfect AVERAGE behavior rating, but after he tested FIV+, the ACC wrote him off as NOT WORTH SAVING and slapped him with New Hope Only. In our experience, FIV+ cats can have, and DESERVE to have, long and healthy lives. They need careful attention to their general health and diet, but this is no more than ANY cat should receive. A properly-care- for FIV+ cat need not have a shortened life expectancy. But the ACC will kill lovebug GRIS at noon tomorrow, unless YOU write a happy ending to his tale of woe. Please start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt adorable FIV+ lovebug GRIS from the approved New Hope rescue groups! If you can’t save GRIS yourself, please SHARE his sad story and PLEDGE for his rescue!

04/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gris came to us as a stray on 4/16/15. Gris can be seen in the kennel with calm and relaxed body language. He allows the assessor to pet him softly, and solicits attention from the assessor through head rubs, and chirping. The behavior department believes that Gris can go to an average home. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you – is calm, relaxed and friendly (1) When spoken to quietly: comes to front of cage – soliciting, rubbing against cage front, reaching out with paws (1) Reaction to cage door opening: remains motionless or does not respond (2) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention – rubs, chirps, meows (1) Reaction to being picked up: Allows to be picked up for a moment before becoming agitated and jumping away from the assessor.
