***SAFE 05/22/15*** HANDSOME KITTEN, DUMPED FOR “TOO MANY PETS”, IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY, BUT THE AC WILL KILL HIM ANYWAY – PLEASE GRANT GRANDPA JR. A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Handsome 8-month-old kitten GRANDPA JR., a gray and white tuxie, was sadly surrendered to the ACC’s Death Camp for Kittens for the excuse of “TOO MANY PETS”. This adorable laddie was BRED AT HOME, where he had MUCH to recommend him: ” He lived with 9 other cats and he was relaxed, affectionate, and respectful. When he played with them it was gentle. He is litter box trained, kept indoors only, and has a medium level of energy. He enjoys being brushed, picked up, and held.He plays with balls and catnip toys and used a scratching post. He would play gentle with owner.” Even during intake, Grandpa Jr. was “talkative throughout intake and when touched had soft body and brushed against hand. When inside new carrier retreated to back but after a minute came to the front and brushed against door”. This precious kitten earned a very good EXPNOCHILD behavior rating, but the heartless ACC will KILL Grandpa Jr. tomorrow at noon, despite the fact that he’s PERFECTLY HEALTHY! Please start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt adorable gray and white kitten GRANDPA JR.! If you can’t save GRANDPA JR. yourself, please SHARE his sad story and PLEDGE for his rescue!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
According to the former owner he has not been around children or dogs so her behaviors are unknown. He lived with 9 other cats and he was relaxed, affectionate, and respectful. When he played with them it was gentle. Reaction to assessor: Grandpa Jr looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Grandpa Jr remains crouched down at the back, alert with a direct stare. Reaction to touch: Grandpa Jr flinches on the stroke then stiffens during the touch and began to lip lick. Placement determination: Exprience / no child Grandpa Jr tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
