***SAFE 05/30/15*** GENTLE GRACIE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF HER OWNER DUMPING HER FOR ALLERGIES!! GRACIE is a 10 year old sweetheart! She lived with the same owner for 10 years and all of a sudden a 1 yr old grandchild arrived, and GRACIE gets the boot. Funny thing is the person allergic doesn’t seem to live in the home. GRACIE was said to be gentle with both adults and children, a bit shy and has excellent house manners. She slept with the owner’s son and when the two were leaving the shelter she began to meow after them!!! How heartbreaking!! GRACIE DESERVES BETTER~ A NICE HOME WHERE SHE WILL BE A FUREVER KITTY AND NEVER BE ABANDONED AGAIN. PLEASE GIVE THIS GRAY GIRL A NEW BEGINNING TONIGHT AND CONTACT A RESCUE TO SAVE HER LIFE!!!

On her way to ACC, she was relaxed and meowed in the car ride. She has no litter box problems. She has never gotten a bath or her nails trimmed. She was not bothered by the carrier. She does not like to be held. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW The owner describes Gracie, as friendly, shy at times, affectionate, mellow, independent, assertive, and quiet. The owners favorite thing about gracie is that she is a sweet cat. The owners son was in the lobby as well and he said his favorite thing about her is that she is mello. She loved to sleep at the foot of his bed and kept him company in his room. She has been mostly kept indoors. She was being fed meow mix and tuna fish as a treat. She used a hooded litterbox with fresh step cat litter. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During intake, Gracie was a bit vocal as her owner and son left the facility. She allowed scanning and collaring. She came out of her carrier on her own and allowed petting and photographs. She is a bit shy but is friendly and easy to handle.
