***SAFE 11/29/15***GORGEOUS GRACE was brought into the shelter in a cat trap. This BEAUTY with the big green eyes and lovely brown and white coloring was a stray and is very afraid at the shelter. GRACE is still a kitten, only 5 months old and needs some time to get used to people. GRACE needs time and patience to learn to trust humans. This sweet scared girl is on the list for lethal injection tomorrow if she isn’t fostered or adopted. 11/23/15 14:26 Profile wasn’r left due to kitten being stray. Behavior During Intake: Grace was brought into the facility in a trap provided by the finder. Upon arrival Grace was thrashing around the trap in attempts to flee. When I extended my hand to pet Grace it growled/hissed at me. As I got closer he swatted and tried to dart in the opposite direction. Due to the behavior during intake I was not able to scan, collar, or handle this animal.

Grace came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Grace growled and did not allow handling. Reaction to assessor: Grace is hiding in her den as I approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Grace peeks out from her den but remains hidden. Reaction to cage door opening: Grace darts around inside her den, tries to flee cage. Reaction to touch: Grace strikes and hisses, then tries to flee. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Grace appears fearful and avoids interaction with the assessor. Grace is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
