***GONE 07/07/15*** GORDON IS A PLAYFUL KITTY WHO WAS FOUND IN THE STREET AND SADLY THE FINDER DIDN’T KEEP HIM – BUT TOOK HIM TO THE ACC WHERE HE NOW HAS A COLD AND WILL DIE FOR IT!! GORDON was found in the street and lived with his finder for 3 days before being escorted to the kill shelter. During that time he was said to be playful – loving all the cat toys in the home! He plays gently with children but sadly didn’t get along with the other cat in the home. GORDON is AVERAGE rated for his wonderful purrsonality as he was purring and soliciting attention for the assessor. DON’T LET GORDON DIE TOMORROW AT NOON! HE IS ONLY A KITTEN AND DESERVES TO HAVE A HAPPY HOME. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO SAVE GORDON!!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/24/2015 from NY 11368, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

06/25/15 11:58 Basic Information: Gordon was found in the street and was being taken care of for three days until the person who found him broght him into ACC. Social Life & Personality: Around children Gordon was usually toerant and played with them gently. Around other cats Gordon was aggressive and would hiss at them. Gorgdon was not around any dogs during the time he spent with the person who found him so it is unknown how he reacts to them. Gordon seems to be litter box trained but it is not certain. Behavior issues: Gordon is aggressive to other cat and will hiss and swat at them. Gordon has not bitten any person or animal during his time with the person who found him. It is very difficult to get Gordon in a carrier and he will struggle and try escape. For a New Family to Know: Gordon really enjoys playing with people and like to play with many different things. Some items that he was seen playing with were ball, wand toys, catnip toys, string, stuffed toys and chasing toys. When Gordon plays he is very gentle. When Gordon rides in a car he is very quiet and he eats both wet and dry food. Intake Behavior: Gordon allowed staff to scan and take pictures of him. Gordon allowed staff to pick him up but gave difficultly going in the carrier.

Gordon’s finder stated when he was around children he was usually toerant and played with them gently. When around other cats Gordon was defensive. Also, really enjoys playing with people and like to play with many different things. Reaction to assessor: Gordon looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Gordon remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Gordon accepts the stroke, purrs in place, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Gordon interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
