12/14/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ginger was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He attempted to flee upon intake, but did not display any aggression. He was nervous during his initial medical exam, and would allow handling with a very slow approach. Reaction to Assessor: Ginger makes eye contact with the assessor and is neutral inside his cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ginger begins to lip lick and wander. Reaction to cage door opening: Ginger remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Ginger’s ears tilt sideways and he has wide eyes, but he remains in place and tolerates petting. He lip licks again and slowly shifts away from touch. Placement Determination: Experience Kit tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
