The person who dropped him off, “couldn’t stay” and so we know nothing about GATITO except that he is terrified. He is about two years old and totally at odds with what is happening to him at the ACC….No, he’s not a tiny kitten but he is a cat that deserves to live just as much…..PLEASE CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE TONIGHT AND GIVE GATITO A CHANCE BY FOSTERING….YOU ARE ALL HE HAS….

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Gatito watched the assessor with his ears flat. His body appeared tense. When spoken quietly: Gatito continued to watch the assessor with his ears flat. His body still appeared tense. Reaction to door cage opening: Gatito becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: Gatito allowed petting for a brief moment before retreating, hissing and swating Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Gatito due to fractious behavior Behavior Determination: NewHope Gatito seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Gatatito may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
