***SAFE 07/13/15*** DARLING CAT AND KITTEN DUO, DUMPED WHEN THEIR OLD OWNER GOT SICK, HAVE GREAT BEHAVIOR RATINGS, BUT THE ACC WILL KILL THEM ANYWAY – PLEASE GRANT GARNET AND AMETHYST A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Handsome two-year-old ebony boy GARNET, six-month-old black and white kitten AMETHYST and their fellow fur friends find themselves in the kill-happy ACC through sad circumstances and were “surrendered because the owner of the cats is of old age and can no longer care for them.The daughter brought them in for her. She states that her mother’s home is in very bad shape. According to the owners daughter, all of the cats are very friendly and when you come in through the door, they all run up to greet you. They are very independent in the home. They are all friendly and easy to handle.” Sadly, JASPER has already been killed; PEARL (A1041752) is still available, and SAPPHIRE, PERIDOT, and EMERALD are all thankfully SAFE. Garnet rocked a very good EXPERIENCE behavior rating: “Garnet immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Garnet remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention. Garnet head-butts the hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. During the touch, he then gentle love nips on the assessor’s hand and solicits more attention.” Amethyst rocked a perfect BEGINNER rating for her sweet rubs! Sadly, she But the overcrowded ACC will kill BOTH of these lovebugs at noon tomorrow, despite the fact that Garnet is PERFECTLY HEALTHY and Amethyst has an easily-cured kitty cold! She states that her mothers home is in very bad shape. She says that she will be bringing in 2 other cats later in the day. A staff memebr spoke to her parents and got consent from them to allow the daughter to bring in the cats. Due to the nature of intake, no information is available homelife/behavior. Behavior during intake According to the owners daughter, all of the cats are very friendly and when you come in through the door, they all run up to greet you. They are very independent in the home. During intake, they allowed all handling-scanning(negative), collaring, and photographs. They took food and water and allowed petting. They are all friendly and easy to handle.

Placement determination: Experience Garnet’s behavior in kennel earned him a Beginner rating however, due to his love nips we feel that this cat will do best in a home with experienced cat parents.
