10/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/16/15 18:05 BASIC INFO Garfield Jr. and Star were born in their home 5 and 4 years ago respectively. Their family surrendered them because they have too many pets. SOCIALIZATION Garfield Jr. and Star are shy at first with new people. They lived with infants and toddlers and were respectful of them. They play exuberantly with adults. They lived in a home with 15 cats and were relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. Garfield plays exuberantly with the others. They’ve never bit or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR The cats cry in the car. They don’t mind when someone trims their nails, puts them in a carrier, or wakes them up. Garfield Jr. doesn’t mind being picked up and held. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Garfield Jr.’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, quiet, and high energy. He follows his family and sits in their laps. The cats play with bottle caps, balls, and string. They lived inside and ate dry Iams cat food. They get diarrhea when they eat other foods. Garfield is littertrained, uses and uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and doesn’t have accidents. However, with a hooded litterbox, he feels crowded and sometimes faces his rear out of the box and makes a mess. The cats scratch a vertical rope-covered scratching post in addition to the bed and couch. INTAKE Garfield had a soft body and wide eyes while we pet, scanned (-), collared, picked up, positioned for pictures, and put him into a kennel. He tried to jump onto the floor but was easy to handle and didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.
