VC: Recheck painful hind limb
S/O: QARH, no ocular or nasal d/c. Will attempt to stand but unable to fully support weight for more than a few seconds. Cardaic auscultation revealed grade 3 systolic parasternal murmur. Normal BV sounds. Abdominal palpation was painful, large firm bladder, unable to express NOSF. Decreased/no anal tone, feces stuck to hair around anus. Rectal exam revealed no anal tone and a palpable bone fragment on ventral aspect of pelvic outlet.
Clipped hair around anus, prepuce, and hind limbs. Bruises noted on either side of perineum around anus and prepuce. Dried blood on hair on prepuce.
Adominal radiographs were WNL, inconclusive for pelvic fractures.
Prepped prepuce for urinary catheter placement. Passed sz 3 red rubber catheter, secture w/ stay stures, attached closed urine collection system. Profound hematuria noted.
A: Pelvic fractures and suspect urethral laceration
P: Will notify NH for placement w/ rescue, deadline of 6pm tonight. Needs imediate follow-up veterinary care.
Prognosis: Poor
