***SAFE 04/30/15*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY TORTIE KITTEN HEADBUTTED AT FIRST, BUT NOW WILL DIE DUE TO HER FEAR – PLEASE GRANT GARDENIA A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Gorgeous ten-month-old tortoiseshell kitten GARDENIA SUZY was stuffed into the kill-happy ACC as a STRAY waif! Although Gardenia HEADBUTTED, MEOWED, and ALLOWED ALL HANDLING during intake, now her fear has taken over, so the ACC PUNISHED her with New Hope Only and fast-tracked this poor girl to tomorrow’s noon kill list. Gardenia will gentle down and revert back to her usual friendly headbutting self as soon as she escapes the ACC hellhole. Please start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt scared tortie kitten GARDENIA from the approved New Hope rescue groups! If you can’t save GARDENIA yourself, please SHARE her sad story and PLEDGE for her rescue!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gardenia came to us as a stray, so we do not know much about her history. She was uncomfortable with the assessor and would not allow handling. The behavior department recommends that she leave through a New Hope partner. Reaction to assessor: When approached by the assessor, Gardenia remained in her cat den with tense body language. Her body was crouched, pupils dilated, and her weight was shifted away from the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Gardenia did not respond. Reaction to touch: Gardenia remained tense, retreated away from the assessor, and would not allow petting. Placement determination: New Hope Only
