Everything about Galileo screams “purrfect pet”—super sweet, calm, affectionate and tolerant of all petting and handling. He is a typical orange boy—just a fab, friendly fella who would be a purrfect companion to anyone. Let’s do everything we can to move this precious pet to safe haven. I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/06/2015 from NY 11105, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

04/06/15 19:28 Galileo was very nervous during the intake. He had a stiff body and dilated pupils, he stay as close to the back of the carrier as possible, and he kept licking his lips and looking away. He allowed handling and showed no signs of aggression. He scanned negative for a microchip.

Galileo came to us as a stray on 4/6/15. Upon intake Galileo was reported to be very nervous and had stiff body language, but did allow all handling without displaying any signs of aggression. Initially Galileo could be seen with neutral body language in the cage. Additionally, once the cage door was opened Galileo allowed the assessor to touch him and began to solicit more petting and attention from the assessor. When the assessor proceeded to pick Galileo up, Galileo became uncomfortable rather quickly and jump out of the assessor’s arms but showed no aggression. The behavior department feels that Galileo can go to an average home. Reaction to assessor: Does not come to the front but remains neutral (2) When spoken to quietly: Does not come to the front but remains neutral (2) Reaction to cage door opening: Remains soft and relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: Solicits petting and attention – rubs, chirps, meows (1). Reaction to being picked up: Allows to be picked up, but becomes quickly agitated and jumps out of assessor’s arms.
