FRY – A1058651
Safe 11-28-2015 Brooklyn
**SAFE 11/28/15** POOR FRY IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY BUT THAT WON’T STOP THE ACC FROM ENDING HIS LIFE AT NOON SATURDAY! FRY is a stray boy who was trapped and dumped in the shelter. He is about 2 years old and healthy. He has backed away and flinched when anyone tried to pet him, so he was punished with a NEW HOPE rating. There is no info on his background so we don’t know if he was someone’s lost pet or a cat who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Either way, if a rescue angel doesn’t step up to the plate before NOON Saturday, poor FRY will be wheeled down to the euth room never to be seen again. WON’T YOU ADVOCATE FOR THIS HEALTHY CAT TONIGHT? NEW HOPE RATINGS CAN BE UNFAIR AND POOR FRY ONLY WANTS A CHANCE TO LIVE TONIGHT. FOSTERING WILL SAVE HIS LIFE. PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE NOW IF YOU CAN GIVE HIM THAT CHANCE.

11/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fry was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He appeared very fearful upon intake; his was crouched down and had wide eyes. He was also sensitive to contact, attempting to flee the other direction when touched slightly through the carrier. The enrichment facilitator notes that he flinches when touched and would back away and offer a low growl during his stay in the care center. He shifts away from contact and hisses and swats when close. Reaction to Assessor: Fry does not come to the front, but remains neutral in his cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fry looks at the assessor and looks around his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Fry remains motionless, but starts to breathe heavily. Reaction to touch: Fry lip licks, was very hesitant, and tries to avoid touch. When attempting to pet him, he hisses softly and strikes at the assessor’s hand. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Fry is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
