03/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Franklin was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. When softly spoken to, he tries to sniff the assessor and rolls onto his back. Reaction to cage door opening: Franklin remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Franklin rubs his cheeks lightly against the assessor’s hand, begins to purr, and feels comfortable enough to eat his food. Reaction to toy or novel object: Franklin sniffs the object. Reaction to being picked up: Franklin remains calm and allows handling. Note: Franklin was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder reports he is friendly and has lived with a group of cats outside. He was easy to handle during intake and during his initial medical exam. Behavior Determination: Average Franklin interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
