A volunteer writes: “I’m an energetic little guy, I am sweet and love attention. I love to be touched and of course play, play and play some more. So take me home for I want a nice place to play and where I can have fun, and of course, be with you.” FLUFUMS is friendly and sociable at the shelter, asking for attention and for people to play with! 10/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Flufums is social and affectionate but appears to be easily overstimulated and plays roughly. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Flufums becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance. Reaction to assessor: Flufums comes to the front of the cage, soliciting attention. She reaches through the cage door to tap the assessor When spoken quietly: Flumfums stays at front, continues soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: Flufums remains soft & relaxed Reaction to touch: Flufums immediately starts to rough play with the assessor’s hand. Flufums does not break skin during play. Try picking cat up: Flumfums is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Experience no child At the time of the assessment Flumfums was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Flufums is displaying behavior appropriate for a experienced cat owner with no children due to his rough play.
