FLAMINGO -A1052267
Safe 9-27-2015 Brooklyn Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 09/27/15** FLAMINGO and NARWHALE are two adorable cats who have been subjected to the usual ACC treatment: the crappy names, the blame-the-victim shelter comments, the exposure to horrible germs, and the utter inability to get them adopted. These cats were trapped outside of an airport and it’s no surprise that they would be fearful and attempt to flee—goodness, what cat would willingly jump into a trap and then think the ACC was the best thing ever? Both FLAMINGO and NARWHALE earned respectable EXPERIENCE ratings and should settle down into nice pets, given a little time to decompress. If YOU can offer them the livesaving TLC and space in your home, please FOSTER or ADOPT! Otherwise, please pledge toward their care and share these beautiful cats everywhere you can think of. Save FLAMINGO and NARWHALE tonight!

09/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Flamingo was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: retreats Reaction to touch: tries to avoid being touched Try picking cat up: Flamingo is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Placement Determination: Experience
