11/06/15 12:45 Basic Info: Felix is a 6 year old male cat who has no known injuries or medical problems. He was surrendered to the shelter due to a housing conflict with the owner. Social Life and Personality: According to the owner he has not been around any children before so his behaviors are unknown. He lived with 3 other cats and was relaxed, affectionate, and playful around them and when he played it was gentle. He lived with one dog and was relaxed and respectful but did not interact much. He is litter box trained, kept indoors only, and has a medium to low level of energy. Behavior: He was never given a bath, has his nails clipped, or his fur brushed so his behaviors are unknown. He enjoys being picked up and held and is not bothered when placed into a carrier. New Family Info: He is used to pellet litter inside an uncovered box. He played with balls and wand toys and used a vertical scratching post made out of rope and carpet. He followed owner around the home and was fed dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake he would retreat from extended hand and when outside carrier would attempt to flee. When scanned was negative for a microchip. When touched had stiff body but did not try to swat or bite. When inside new carrier retreated to the back and when given food was not interested.

He lived with 3 other cats and was relaxed, affectionate, and playful around them and when he played it was gentle. He lived with one dog and was relaxed and respectful but did not interact much. Reaction to assessor: Felix looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Felix remains crouched position at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Felix accepts the stroke, leans into the assessor’s hand, but seems unsure with tail down and remains cautious. Placement determination: Experience Felix tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
