FELICIA – A1048646

8-22-2015 Manhattan

Previous | Next

***SAFE 08/22/15*** FELICIA is not having a great life! She was surrendered due to health problems which could have been tended to,had the owners brought her to a RESCUE instead of the ACC,A HIGH KILL SHELTER! The SPAYED, 3-5 year old has been around kids ages 12,18 and 24 years of age. The previous owners also mentioned that FELICIA should be good around young children as well! But has only actually been with children of ages previously mentioned. PLEASE pledge for RESCUE, offer to FOSTER or ADOPT! Her life is at risk, she doesn’t deserve to die like this!

08/20/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/20/15 20:41 Basic Information Felicia is a 5 year old spayed DSH that has lived with her family since Feburary. She was adopted from another shelter. Felicia was surrendered due to emergency medical concerns that the owners could not care for. Social Life and Personality Felicia has lived with a 12, 18, and 24 year old. She is very playful and can be a bit rough at times(softly play bites/ scratches but does not break skin). Owner thinks she would not do well in a home with younger children due to her play style. Owner has never seen Felicia with a cat, but she met a dog once and hissed when he approached. Behavior Felicia uses her litter box and is an indoor cat. Her favorite activity is to lounge next to the window on the second story of the house. She is described as having a medium energy level. She does not scratch furniture, but was not provided with a scratching post. Owners have never given her a bath or trimmed her nails. Felicia does enjoy light brushing and can easily be placed in a carrier. For a New Family to know Felicia uses fresh step clumping litter in an uncovered litter pan. Her favortie toys include wand toys and balls. She is decribes as “friendly with family, yet she can also be indepentent”. She was free fed Alley Cat dry food

08/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Felicia came in with a pre-existing medical condition. Reaction to assessor: Felicia looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Felicia remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Felicia accepts the stroke, but seems unsure with the touch and stares at the hand with ears down to her side. Placement determination: Experience / no child Felicia tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
