SAFE 04/11/15 -EROS – A1031170 – MANHATTAN, NY
4-11-2015
Eros is an ebony beauty who glows with good health, and who earned a radiant BEGINNER rating from the ACC. Brought into the shelter by a former owner who claimed “allergies” as the reason for their betrayal, Eros has lived happily with other cats, and is said to hide from young kiddos. There is no way to look at his photo and *not* want to cuddle him in loving arms. Please make sure Eros gets to enjoy a long, happy life by finding a foster/adopter to save his life, tonight!

03/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Eros was soliciting attention by meowing at the front. When softly spoken to, he attempts to sniff the assessor, rubs his body against the front, and reaches out with his paw. Reaction to cage door opening: Eros remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Eros remains in place for petting, begins to purr, and lightly rubs his cheeks against the assessor’s hand. Reaction to toy or novel object: Eros shows no interest in playing. Reaction to being picked up: Eros remains soft and allows all handling. As per previous owner, Eros has lived with 3 adults for his whole life. He also lived with other cats, in which he got along with fine. They said he loves to play, enjoys petting, loves to cuddle and be picked up, but can be shy and hide from children. There were no additional details on the context of what his interactions were like with children; therefore the behavior team advises that any future home with children conduct a thorough interaction. Behavior Determination: Beginner Elsworth interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
