ERIK – A1060779
Gone 12-22-2015 Brooklyn
*** GONE 12/22/15 ***TNR SHOULD NOT MEAN TRAP NEUTER AND KILL! WHY IS ERIK HERE? It’s noted that ERIK, who has a dirty coat and has probably had a very harsh life was brought in due to ‘TNR’ which stands for trap, neuter and release’. However this very sad looking frightened boy was carted into ACC. Now he’s got a New Hope Only rating which is very unfair. He deserves better, after all, ERIK hasn’t had any easy time of it, and is frightened. Want to save ERIK? On this Solstice Night ERIK deserves to be able to see the light again and not just of his last sunrise. He should be able to be given a chance to live. He might be the kind of cat who needs some time to himself, but often those labeled as ‘New Hope Only’ and ‘Feral’ are frightened cats who simply need a chance to live, not be killed…ERIK is FIV+, but FIV+ cats can live long, hearty lives if they are cared for. Please give ERIK that chance. He deserves better.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Erik is stiff and alert upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Erik focuses on the assessor and hisses. Reaction to cage door opening: Erik becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Erik does not allow touch; he hisses and swipes at the assessor’s hand and attempts to flee. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Erik is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
