I am a spayed female brn tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/25/2015 from NY 11694, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
11/25/2015 Exam Type INITIAL – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 14.3 LBS.

Scanned positive with chip#0A1210406F QARH – tense, will flee, allows minimal handling S~4 years Ears, eyes, nose clear Mouth/teeth: broken upper right canine tooth, some staining Coat clean, no parasites noted NOSF

11/25/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/25/15 17:00 Ember is a 4 year old female spayed brown tabby domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered due to allergies. Ember has been with the family almost 4 years. Ember lived with 4 adults and an 11 year old boy. There were no other animals in the home. When visitors come to the home she is indifferent. Ember allows approach for petting but can be defensive about being picked up. Ember is an indoor cat but once has been exposed to a dog that was visiting and she was indifferent. In the past Ember has been exposed to other cats in the home but the last interaction she had with a visiting cat did not go well and Ember was defensive with growling. Ember uses a closed litter box with clumping litter. Ember is defensive to a bath and nail trims. She prefers not to be picked up but enjoys being brushed. Ember will struggle when being placed in a cat carrier. Ember likes string toys and objects that dangle. She has a scratching post made out of carpet which she uses. Ember does not scratch furniture in the home. When the family is home she likes to go to her own place. When home alone she does not make mischief. Ember likes both wet and dry food. Upon intake Ember was not handled. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (positive) and photograph in the carrier but did not collar.

11/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Ember didn’t live with any other pets and was indifferent when visitors came to the house. She prefers not to be picked up but enjoys be petted. Ember likes string toys and objects that dangle. Upon intake she was tense and not handled during intake. Reaction to assessor: Ember has wide eyes focused on the assessor but doesn’t come forward. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ember’s ears perk up and she starts to slow blink. Her body is curled up in the litter box. Reaction to cage door opening: Ember is neutral. Reaction to touch: Ember allows petting but her tail begins to flicker. She warms up to contact and will lean in for attention. Behavior Determination: Experience Ember tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
