***SAFE 08/26/15*** ANOTHER OWNER DUMP due to their NEW home NOT allowing cats. Do these people just not look for dwellings that are cat friendly or is it too inconvenient! GORGEOUS EGYPT, is 3 years old and had been with her owners since she was a kitten. She has been socialized around children, dogs and cats. But as one would guess, she’s fearful in the shelter setting and may need time to warm up to her new owner(s). Which is really the case, mostly with any new pet. So she needs to go to experienced new owners. PLEASE, offer to FOSTER or ADOPT her and give her the good life she deserves!

08/10/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/10/15 20:48 Basic Information: Egypt was surrendered to us because her previous owner was moving and was not allowed to have pets in her new home. Her previous owner originally got her as a gift and has had her since she was a kitten, she is now 3 years old. The last time she went to the vet was August 2014. The two things her previous owner liked most about her is that she is friendly and likes to cuddle. Social Life and Personality: Around children Egypt is relaxed and affectionate and when she plays she is gentle. Around other cats she is also relaxed, affectionate and gentle when she plays. Around dogs Egypt is respectful. She is litter box trained and also knows how to use the toilet. She was kept indoors only. Her activity level is low and she can be described as playful, confident, shy, mellow, friendly, affectionate, quiet and independent. Behavior Issues: Egypt enjoys taking baths, having her coat brushed and being picked up. She isn’t bothered when she is placed in a carrier or if she is woken up while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Egypt used clumping cat litter in a hooded litter box. He did not use anything other than an old flip flop to scratch on. When her previous owners were home she liked to stay in her favorite spot. When she played with her previous owners she was gentle. She also enjoys car rides. She ate wet 9 Lives and dry Alley Cat food. At night she slept in her previous owner’s bed. Behavior during Intake: Egypt was very quiet. She allowed me to pet her and hold her. She had a soft and relaxed body and went in and out of her crate easily and showed no signs of aggression.

08/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Egypt was calm and relaxed upon approach. She lowers her eyes and blinks slowly when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Egypt remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Egypt lowers her head, closes her eyes, and her ears bend sideways, but she remains in place and allows all petting. Reaction to being picked up: Egypt remains soft and allows all handling. She nuzzles her face into the assessor’s arms to try to hide. Behavior Determination: Experience Egypt tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
