Manhattan Center

My name is DYLAN. My Animal ID # is A1058270.
I am a neutered male brn tabby and white domestic lh. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/18/2015 from NY 10467, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
11/20/2015 Exam Type OBSERVATION – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 11.2 LBS.

BARH, eating well, backs away from humans but no longer seems defensive. No hissing when approached, just flattened ears.

11/18/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/18/15 14:25 Dylan was found in the stairwell of an apt building, left there in a carrier overnight. Dylan was tense with wide eyes in his carrier. He allowed me to scan and pet him in his carrier. I tried to encourage him to walk out onto the counter and he remained in the carrier and began to growl. We left him inside the open carrier in his kennel for a few hours and he stayed in the carrier. We took him out in the carrier and he growled and struck the door. However, when we opened it and gave him a few minutes to walk out, he stayed inside. We took apart his carrier and put him in a net, and the vet examined and vaccinated him there. He sometimes hissed, growled, and attempted to strike us. We put him back in his kennel with the net and he retreated to the back.

11/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Dylan looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Dylan remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Dylan retreats away from the assessor’s hand and began to low growl then became louder as you proceed, but did not allow the touch. Placement determination: NH ONLY Dylan is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
