DROOPY – A1034639
5-5-2015 Manhattan
***SAFE 05/05/15*** DARLING DROOPY IS PART OF BONDED PAIR THAT WAS LEFT WITH HER PRESENT OWNER WHEN HER ORIGINAL ONE MOVED AWAY – BUT HE BROUGHT HER INTO THE SHELTER AFTER ONE MONTH DUE TO ALLERGIES! Droopy and her pal Michu were left behind when their original owner moved. They were family pets and used to living in a home and were said to be very affectionate with each other.. Droopy was said to love to play, follow her owner around and sleeps with her pal Michu. Sounds like they are bonded to me. Now the ACC will kill this purrfectly HEALTHY cat who is only 1 year old all because she did not acclimate well to the shelter and is afraid. DON’T LET THE ACC KILL THIS KITTEN – HURRY AND CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL THIS TERRIFIC TORTIE TO SAFETY – AND DON’T FORGET HER BONDED PAL MICHU WHO IS ALSO STILL IN THE SHELTER!!!

04/28/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/28/15 17:55 BASIC INFO Michu and Droopy were left with their owner when there previous owner moved away several months ago. He cannot keep them due to allergies. Droopy got her name because when she was a kitten she became limp when she was held. SOCIALIZATION Michu and Droopy are friendly with strangers and haven’t bit/scratched anyone. They are relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and play exuberantly together. They sleep together and comfort each other when one of them is stressed. BEHAVIOR Michu and Droopy scratch the couch but never had a scratching post. They enjoy being bathed and brushed and are friendly when put in a carrier or woken up. Michu is relaxed in the car and Droopy meows. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Michu and Droopy’s owner describes them as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, smart, and medium activity. They like to play with boxes, balls, wand toys, and stuffed toys and play gently with people. They follow and sit on their owner. The cats lived inside. Michu slept on the couch on a blanket and Droopy slept on her owner. They ate dry and wet cat food. They’re littertrained and don’t have accidents. They used an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter. INTAKE Droopy was tense with wide eyes but allowed handling-being held, scanned (negative), collared, photographed, and put in a kennel. On the counter, she looked around quickly when she heard paper crumbling. Her body softened and she sat still when I pet her head and talked to her. She was very easy to handle and didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Droopy lived with another cat and they are relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and play exuberantly together. The former owner also describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, smart, and medium activity. Reaction to assessor: Droopy looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Droopy remains crouched down at the back, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Droopy does not allow the stroke, hisses, and spits at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Droopy is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting.
