06/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Dorian Grey does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside his cage. When softly spoken to, he looks at the assessor and then looks away. Reaction to cage door opening: Dorian Grey becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Dorian Grey sniffs the assessor’s hand and was a bit hesitant of touch, but allows stroke on his head and back, and relaxes after. He head-butts the assessor’s hand lightly and is comfortable enough to start eating. Behavior Determination: Experience Dorian Grey tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. Although he is exhibiting behaviors that earn him an Average score, due to his reaction to handling during the medical exam and his willingness to strike out to avoid handling in certain situations, we recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
