DOMINICO – A1050839

Gone 9-14-2015 Manhattan

Previous | Next

***GONE 09/14/15*** When a cat is trapped, as was DOMINICO,of course he’s going to be nervous and tense. FInder had trapped this 1 year old in the backyard. He tolerated attention and petting but is nervous in the shelter and may be intimidated by small children so he is rated EXPNOCHILD. That doesn’t mean he will always be like that. No doubt ,most of his animosity came from how he was trapped and brought into the ACC. Given some time and space he will slowly get used to his new surroundings and start acting like the sweet kitty he is.There are a lot of paths to Happy. Choose the path that leads you to DOMINICO!

09/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Dominico’s body was flat against the ground and was wide-eyed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Dominico’s ears tilt slightly and he focuses on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Dominico becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Dominico is immobile during touch and his tail tucks close to his body. He moves away to hide behind his litter box and his eyes wander. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Dominico tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
