04/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ding Ding came to us as an owner surrender on 4/01/15. It was reported by the previous owner that Ding Ding has lived with two adults, one child, and other cats before. Ding Ding was described as being very friendly with all. The previous owner described Ding Ding as a very playful cat that loves to be picked up and cuddled. Initially Ding Ding solicited attention from the assessor by giving head rubs. While petting it was noticed that Ding Ding may be reactive to loud noises or fast movements. This behavior may not be seen in the home, but we are not sure that this is a personality trait or an artifact of the shelter environment. The behavior department believes that Ding Ding would do best in an Experienced home, where he can be interacted with slowly and at this own pace. Reaction to assessor: Does not come to the front but looks at you – is calm, relaxed and friendly. (1) When spoken to quietly: Comes to the front of cage – soliciting, rubbing against cage front (1) Reaction to cage door opening: Retreats (3) Reaction to touch: Solicits petting and attention – rubs, chirps, meows (2) Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt.
