***SAFE 12/02/15*** END OF THE YEAR CATS NEED NEW HOMES…..OCTOBER, NOVEMBER & DECEMBER lost their owner….(JANUARY is not listed)….All three of these sweethearts are FIXED, but they are totally out of their element at the shelter…They are all young cats, only two years old and probably well-loved by their former owner. Right now, they need an understanding purrson or purrsons to help them through their grieving and find a new, loving home. PLEASE CONSIDER OPENING YOUR HOME AND YOUR HEART TO ONE OF MORE OF THESE FRIGHTENED FELINES WHO HAVE ALREADY LOST SO MUCH…..APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT TONITE!!

I am a spayed female black domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/17/2015 from NY 10303, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER DIED. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-039907.

MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
11/27/2015 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 2 NC – MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 11.3 LBS.

11/27/15 12:49 no V 12/25 S/O- Eating well, no vomit or diarrhea noted in cage, Physical exam not performed as animal is cowering in the back of the cage. A: cat reported to be vomiting, no vomit noted in cage. P: Cat was started on Famciclovir but no indication was given for why. Stress of Famciclovir administration in a frightened cat could contribute to vomiting or reaction directly to famciclovir could be due to vomiting. Will discontinue Famciclovir.

11/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
December was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. December was being monitored by the Enrichment Facilitator and was described as being fearful and tense upon intake. Reaction to assessor: December makes eye contact with the assessor and lick lips. Reaction when softly spoken to: December lowers her head and starts to breathe heavy. Reaction to cage door opening: December inches away slowly and slow blinks. Reaction to touch: December is tolerant of petting but she tries to hide her face. Her body is tense and she stress meows. Behavior Determination: Experience December tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
