She was perfectly healthy when she came in the shelter but has since caught the kitty sniffles – so she is being cured tomorrow by a lethal injection!! Reaction to Assessor: Daria was calm and relaxed upon approach. She reaches out with her paws and attempts to sniff the assessor by the front when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Daria backed away a little. Reaction to touch: Daria was hesitant at first, but rubs her whole body against the assessor’s hand and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Daria stress meows and struggles to be put back down. She continued to allow petting afterwards, but remains in the back of the cage. Behavior Determination: Experience Daria tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
