06/24/15 12:07 Basic Information: Daniel is a 10 year old neutered black domestic short hair. He was bred at home and is being surrender due to personal problems. Daniel has not been to the vet recently but he has no known injuries or health problems. The owner states her favorite thing about Daniel is how he meows a lot when something is wrong. Social Life and Personality: Daniel has not been around children or dogs to know his behavior around them. He has lived with two other cats. All the cats are respectful of each other and usually do not play with each other. He is litter box trained and has never had an accident outside the litter box. He has a medium activity level. The owner describes her has playful, confident, friendly, affectionate, and independent. Behavior: Daniel is afraid of baths; he struggles, hisses, and swats during them. He loves to be brushed. He struggles when picked up and when placed in a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Daniel is used to many kinds of litter inside a hooded litter box. He likes to play with balls, string, and catnip. He does not have a scratching post at home but he does scratch on th cloth furniture. When people are home, he follows them around. He meows during car rides. he eats dry cat food. He likes to sleep in bed with people. Intake Behavior: Daniel allowed to be picked up and placed on the counter for photos. When on the counter, Daniel was tense and he tried to hide. He allowed to be repositioned on the counter, collared, and placed back in the carrier. Daniel did not show any aggressive behaviors.

Reaction to Assessor: Daniel lifts his head and looks at the assessor upon approach. When softly spoken to, he puts his head back down and blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Daniel meows and remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Daniel remains in place for petting, meows softly, and leans on the assessor’s hand. He may lift his butt up from time to time when scratched on his lower back area. Reaction to being picked up: Daniel remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Daniel has lived with two other cats, in which he was respectful around. He wasn’t very playful around them, but has a medium activity level. The owner describes her has playful, confident, friendly, affectionate, and independent. Behavior Determination: Average Daniel interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
