***SAFE 08/01/15*** Nothing comical about this DAGWOOD’S situation! He is 4 years old and now surrendered due to previous owners health. It’s just a sad situation all around. DAGWOOD has lived with teens, adults, seniors, dogs and a cat. He got along with the dog. Poor DAGWOOD is scared and unsure of his surroundings so he was shy and hides. Can you blame him? Now he has an EXPERIENCE rating. Give DAGWOOD a chance to have a loving safe place to call home. Please contact a NEW HOPE RESCUE NOW and free DAGWOOD from this nightmare!

07/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dagwood’s former owner stated he has lived with cats and dogs but only got along with the dog. Also, loves to play and is more shy, hides a lot. Reaction to assessor: Dagwood looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Dagwood remains crouched down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Dagwood accepts the stroke and shows some interest by slightly lifting up his hind legs, but remains cautious with his surroundings. Placement determination: Experience Dagwood tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. 7/29 update: Dagwood does not appear to be thriving in the shelter environment, avoiding interaction and crouching in his cubby. He may hiss and growl when approached. We feel it is in Dagwood’s best interest to move into a calm, stable home environment quickly.
