***SAFE 10/12/15***This friendly gray male is as sweet as they come! COOKIE is 9 years old and was brought to the shelter because his owner has allergies. This mellow guy is ready for a beginner home and is craving a little love and affection! He head-butts the cage when a human reaches in to pet him. His eyes are saying, “Take me home and I’ll be your cat-friend for life! A volunteer writes: This distinguished, gray-haired gentleman is super sweet. He is house-trained and loves to be petted. Cookie is neutered and ready to go home with you today. He loves people and shows interest in other cats at the shelter. He’s a big, mature tom cat who is so easy to love!” COOKIE is friendly, well-behaved and affectionate. He used to follow his owner from room to room and sleep on the owner’s bed. This gentle guy’s life will end today if he’s not fostered or adopted. Please save SWEET COOKIE and you’ll have a furry friend who will pay you back in purrs!!

09/30/15 19:10 Litter Mates : Cookie : A1053302 Coco : A1053303 Cookie is a 9 yrs. old all gray male cat who was surrendered at ACC today along with his litter mate. He is neutered and appears to be healthy. He is described as being friendly and affectionate. Cookie has been socialized with adults and other cats but has not been socialized with children or dogs at this time. He is respectful relaxed and tolerant when he is around other cats and adults. When he is interacting with them he is well behaved gentle and affectionate. He is an indoor cat who is litter trained. He is described as being playful confident mellow friendly affectionate quiet and independent witha medium activity level. Cookie has never been given a bath or had his nails trimmed. He is not bothered when he is having his fur brushed or when he is being held or disturbed from his sleep. He will struggle when he is being placed inside of a carrier. He uses clumping litter in an open litter box. He plays with balls and will engage in chasing games. He will use a ertical scratching post made out of carpet on occassion. He will meow when he is in a car but will relax after a few minutes. When Cookie is in the house with his owner he will follow them around and also stay in the same room with them. He will stay on the couch and sleep there as well. He likes to eat dry food twice a day and will eat meat flavored treats. During the Intake process Cookie was calm and well behaved. He allowed himself to be transferred into a new carrier with minimal effort. He also allowed himself to be collared and photographed with ease. He allowed himself to be picked up and held and did not display any negative behaviors.

Cookie was bought into the care center due the previous owner having allergies. Cookie has been socialized with adults and other cats but has not been socialized with children or dogs at this time. He is respectful, relaxed and tolerant when he is around other cats and adults. When he is interacting with them he is well behaved ,gentle and affectionate. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, is calm, relaxed When spoken quietly: Cookie comes to the front of cage and head butts the cage Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Cookie solicits petting and attention, likes chin rubs and purrs Try picking cat up: Cookie is tolerant of this type of handling Behavior Determination: Beginner At the time of the assessment Cookie was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Cookie is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.
