I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/01/2015 from NY 11237, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-020921.

07/11/2015 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is EXPNOCHILD, Weight 13.5 LBS.
VET CHECK: POSSIBLE SKIN IRRITATION/INJURY BAR, very friendly cat. Affectionate. No skin lesions or injuries seen. Integument WNL. Somewhat reactive (cries out in response, but no hissing/scratching/biting) to deep abdominal palpation or pressing in along shoulders or back. Reaction is not specific to any portion of body. Rule-out behavioral, as no apparent medical cause. Continue to monitor. Apparently healthy young adult. Good prognosis.

07/01/15 16:02 Came in together: A1042304-Comet A1042305-Volcano Intake Behavior: Comet hide in the back of the carrier. When in the carrier Comet allowed to be pet but not picked up. Comet could not be placed on counter for photograph. She would retreat and hiss when couneslor attempted to collar. Comet was offered wet food, when Comet began to eat the wet food, Comet allowed collaring.

Notes: Comet was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying conflicted behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, and allows limited petting before becoming overwhelmed. Comet is displaying behavior appropriate for a experienced cat owner with no children. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed When spoken quietly: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed , rolls over Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed, come sto the front Reaction to touch: head butts, rolls over ,allows limited petting before hissing but returns to seeking attention Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of handling. Placement Determination: Experience no child
