I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/31/2015 from NY 10451, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

10/31/15 13:04 Basic Info: Coco is a 1 ½ year old female cat. She was gotten as a gift and surrendered because of allergies. Social Life and Personality: According to the owner She has not been around and children, dogs, or cats so her behaviors are unknown. She is litter box trained, kept indoors only, and has a medium level of energy. Behaviors: She has not bitten or scratched anyone or any animal before. She does not like to be picked up, will run away and hide but when she approaches a person she will jump up and enjoy being pet. New Family Info: She is used to crystal litter inside a hooded box. She will play with balls wand toys, and stuffed toys. She was given a vertical scratching post made out of rope which she used. She will stay in a favorite spot and was fed both wet and dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake would approach extended hand and allowed all handling without aggression. When scanned was negative for a microchip and when given food would sniff but not interested in eating. When she was touched she had soft relaxed body and would slow blink at admission counselor.

Reaction to assessor: Coco looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Coco remains crouched position in her litter box, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Coco sniffs the assessor’s hand then once touched she rolls over in place and began to appreciate the petting. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy and jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Average Coco interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
