06/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Circuit does not come to the front, but is neutral inside her cage with her body low against the ground. When softly spoken to, she looks at the assessor and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Circuit becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Circuit crouches down and tries to avoid touch. She hisses and retreats from the assessor’s hand and squeezes into the corner of the cage. She allows gentle touch on her head, but seems very uncomfortable; she becomes immobile, her ears bend flat, and she continues to hiss during the interaction. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Circuit is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
