Basic information Chula kane is an 18 year old DSH. The owner recieved him as a gift from her husband 18 years ago. She surrendered him because shes going away on vacation and does not want to take him with her. Socialization Chula kane has not been around other cats. He has lived with three small dogs which he is aggressive with. He is very territorial aorund the small dogs in the house. Chula kane has not bitten anyone or any other animal. He has mostly been kept indoors and he sleeps all day in his favorite spot. His activity level is very low because of his old age. The owner describes him as shy, quiet, independent,and mellow. Behavior Chula Kane has been having litterbox problems for the past year according to the owner. For a new family to know Chula kane used to play alot but because of his old age he is more calm now. He just likes to sleep. He eats dry food. Behavior during intake During intake, Chula Kane was very nice and very quiet. He allowed scanning, petting, collaring and pictures.

Reaction to assessor: Chula Kane comes to the front and meows. When softly spoken to, he tries to sniff the assessor and continues to meow. Reaction to cage door opening: Chula Kane remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Chula Kane remains in place for petting and is very vocal throughout the entire interaction. He attempts to leave the cage, but stops once food was put in his cage; he ate the food peacefully while the assessor continued to pet him. Reaction to being picked up: Chula Kane remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Chula Kane has lived with 3 small dogs in which they reported him to be aggressive and territorial with, but there were no additional details on the context of the behaviors he displayed. Chula Kane has been having litter box problems for the past year, but it is unknown if a veterinarian has been consulted. They said his activity level is low because of his age and describes him as shy, quiet, independent, and mellow. Behavior Determination: Average Harvey interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
