08/24/15 16:40 BASIC INFORMAITN Christy is a female orange tabby that appears to be 5 years old. Christy is being surrendering due to owner having an illness. Christy was a gift to the owner when she was kitten. Christy has no know illness that owner is aware of. SOCIALIZATION Christy has been around children that come over and visit. She approach children slow and sniff. Around adults and family member is relaxed and occasionally seeks attention. When stranger attempt to pet her she moves away but warms up and allows being gently petted. She has never been around other dogs and cats. BEHAVIOR Christy is a bit wary of stranger but will warm up to people quickly. She allows to be held my family members for a long period of time. She always uses her open litter box and has never had an accident in the house. She has never scratched or bitten anyone. She was never had a bath or her nails trimmed. Christy does not care much for cat toys and prefers to lounge around the house. She struggle a bit going into a cage and carrier. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Christy is described as mellow, affectionate and a bit shy. She enjoys unlimited frisky treats and dry Meow mix. Throughout the day she has a medium activity. When she seeks attention she rubs and leans in to be petted. When she grooms her nails she uses the carpet. Christy is an indoor cat only. She becomes vocal when she is very hungry and stress. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During intake Christy allow to be held and petted by counselor. She sniffed counselor hand. She allowed being collard, scanned, photographed. She meow when placed in the cage but managed to relax and fall asleep.

Christy has been around children that come over and visit. She approach children slow and sniff. Around adults and family member is relaxed and occasionally seeks attention. When stranger attempt to pet her she moves away but warms up and allows being gently petted. Also, described as mellow, affectionate and a bit shy. Reaction to assessor: Christy looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Christy remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Christy accepts the stroke and shows some interest by slightly head-butting the assessor’s hand, but remains cautious with her surroundings and began to stiffen up in place. Placement determination: Experience Christy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
