CHOPS – A1053961
Gone 10-17-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 10/17/15*** CHOPS is a handsome fellow that was dumped at the ACC because ” Owner has a new baby on the way.” Why do people continue to do this? Isn’t your pet considered family? Well I guess in this case CHOPS was disposable. CHOPS was originally bought from a CL ad. CHOPS is super friendly with people and is in dire need of your help tonight. This cat was betrayed by it’s owner and may very well end up killed because of their senseless decision. Please help right the wrong that was done to CHOPS and welcome him into your family.

10/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chops former owner stated he is very friendly with strangers. He plays gently with kids and adults. The cat has never lived with another animal. Also, best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Chops looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Chops remains sitting upright by the front, meowing attention. Reaction to touch: Chops accepts the stroke, purrs in place but seems curious with his surroundings and prefers to explore outside of the cage. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Also, Chops’ previous owners report that he was eliminating (urinating and/or defecating) outside the litterbox. Chops’ was seen by a veterinarian and has no known medical issues. We are unaware of what, if any, modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, he is an unneutered male, so we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment.
