04/09/15 13:52 Cat Name: Chloe Reason for surrender: Chloe doesn’t get along with owner 2 year old daughter. Relationship: Owner had Chloe for two year who was adopted from another shelter. People: Chloe lived with two female adults and two children ages 2 and 10 years old. Chloe doesn’t get along with the two year and owners insist Chloe doesn’t go to a home with children. Chloe tends to scratch the two year old when the child wants to plays. Other Animals: Chloe only been around cats in the shelter she was adopted from. Other than that Chloe never interacted with another cat or dog owner stated. Personality/Habits: Owner stated she loves Chloe coat pattern and eyes. Her activity level is to a medium; she mostly lays around and doesn’t play with toys. In the beginning Chloe loved to take baths but now she afraid. She struggles to be picked up and held. She only likes to touch when she is hungry and wants attention. She struggles when being put in carrier and isn’t bothered when disturb while sleeping. Chloe rarely seeks attention and likes to stay in the closet most of the time. She doesn’t like noise and will run and hide. She doesn’t interact with the children in the household and only likes to be loved when hungry. Owner stated Chloe is confident, mellow, assertive and quiet. Training: Chloe is an indoor cat and litter box trained. Chloe uses a litter box that has a hood on it which is cleaned out daily. Feeding: Chloe eats only dry food called Purina and eats tuna fresh out the can. Owner stated Chloe loves to drink water and only affectionate when she is hungry. Behavior upon intake: Chloe was frightened and didn’t want to leave the cage. Her ears were flat and didn’t allow handling.

Owner Profile: Chloe was bought into the care center by her previous owner because of conflicts with the children. Chloe Lived with children but did not like to play with them. Chloe did not live with another cat or dog in her previous home so her behavior towards other animals in unknown. Chloe is an indoor cat and litter box trained. Notes: At the time of the assessment Chloe was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady low approach using soft voices she relaxed a little and I was able to pet her and interact with her. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) Reaction to door cage opening: remains motionless (2) Reaction to touch: allows petting (2) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Placement Determination: Experience no child
