05/19/15 11:05 The surrender states that Chicken has no litter box issues and is a very friendly cat. Intake Behavior: Chicken was meowing from inside the carrier. The carrier lid was opened she popped her head out and was ready to explore. She was very easy to handle. She allowed to be picked up and placed on the counter but was hard to photograph because she was moving around. She nuzzled the counselor’s hand when her ears were rubbed. Chicken maintained a soft body and did not show aggressive or stress behaviors.

Notes: Chicken was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to was seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Chicken is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, is calm, relaxed and friendly (1) When spoken quietly: comes to the front of cage, soliciting, rubbing against front (1) Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention (1) Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling Placement Determination: Beginner
