**SAFE 10/04/15** You don’t need shoes to leave footprints on someone’s heart, and AVERAGE-rated CHICHI has left footprints on the hearts of everyone he has met at the shelter. This DIVINE kitty is 15 YEARS OLD and has these phenomenal volunteer comments. Please work overtime to save his life, tonight! “A volunteer writes: Super-size, super senior alert. This gentle giant is as sweet as they come. He looks at you with his eyes and draws deep into your soul. ” Take me home he says, I can keep you company.” He will make a great companion for any loving home as he is loyal and kind. He had a home once but life has a way of changing things and taking comfort away. Maybe you can offer Chi Chi a new adventure? Take him away and make him comfortable in his golden years, offer him another chance. Another volunteer writes: Chi Chi is a gentle cuddlebug with a story all his own. He lived with a loving family for 15 years, until a series of unfortunate life events left them unable to care for him. They brought Chi Chi to ACC, and told us all about a wonderful pet who plays gently with children and followed his owner everywhere she went. He is litterbox trained and has no behavioral issues or concerns; and while Chi Chi can be shy at first, he warms up to new people within a day. At the shelter, our experience is of a sweet, mellow guy who loves petting and whose purr can be heard halfway across the room. Do you have room in your home and your heart for this big bundle of affection? A staff member writes: Love cannot be measured by the number of years if you are talking about the love that Chi Chi has to give. This gentle senior citizen will give you the best years of his life, and the best love of his years. All the tenderness and warmth emanating from him will weave into your being–a unique gift that only Chi Chi can give. Your years together will be blessed with the best of times that you will know it is better to have known and loved Chi Chi, than never to have known him at all.”

09/17/15 13:13 BASIC INFO Chi Chi’s family found him as a stray when he was a kitten 15 years ago. His owner was elderly and moved to a nursing home 2 months ago. His family had been caring for him but is allergic to cats and cannot keep him. SOCIALIZATION Chi Chi is shy with new people but becomes friendly within a day. He’s relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with children. His owner brought a stray female cat into his home once and he hissed at her and avoided her. Chi Chi has never bit/scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Chi Chi has no known behavior issues. He cries in the car. Hee went to the groomer to be bathed, brushed, and to have his nails trimmed. He doesn’t mind when someone puts him in a carrier or wakes him up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Chi Chi’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, mellow, and low energy. He followed his owner everywhere and sat with her all day. He lived inside and slept with his owner. He ate 9 Lives wet food; he prefers chunky food in gravy. He’s littertrained, used an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. He doesn’t scratch anything. INTAKE Chi Chi had a soft, relaxed body during handling-scanning (-), collaring, petting, picking up, positioning for pictures, and putting into a kennel. He head butted me. On the counter, he sat at the edge, looking at me. In his kennel, he always lied down with his face and front paws at the very front of his kennel against the door. He was easy to handle and didn’t resist/retreat/vocalize.
