***SAFE 08/06/15*** CHEETAH IS A BEAUTIFUL,SPAYED,TABBY BUT JUST WANTS TO GO HOME! She was brought to the ACC because previous owner is moving and can’t bring her with them. The 3 year old has been around cats and is described as playful and affectionate around them. CHEETAH HAS NOT BEEN socialized around kids or dogs. For her great behavior during assessment she was rewarded with an AVERAGE rating! Please contact the Help Desk for assistance to foster or adopt this girl!

07/23/15 13:59 Basic Information Cheetah was brought in as an Owner surrender due to owner moving and being unable to bring Cheetah with her. Owner says Cheetah is about three, and has been with her since she was a small kitten. Owner says as far as she knows Cheetah doesn’t have any injuries or health concerns, and when asked what she adores most about her owner chose that he is loving and playful. Personality & Behavior Cheetah is described as mellow and shy with a medium activity level. Owner says Cheetah hasn’t been around children or dogs, but is playful and affectionate with the cat h lives with and owner says can sometimes get a bit rough. Cheetah is said to be litter-box trained, and kept indoors only. Owner describes Cheetah as friendly, quiet, and somewhat independent. Owner says she hasn’t had any issues with Cheetah biting or scratching anyone or another animal. Owner says Cheetah is afraid during baths and will hiss and attempt to run. Owner says when held Cheetah meows a lot, and will struggle to get down, and is unbothered with being placed in a carrier. For a New Family to Know Cheetah is used to clumping litter with an uncovered litter-box. Owner says Cheetah enjoys playing with string and toy balls, and scratches on a vertical scratching post made of carpet material. Owner says when home Cheetah sometimes follows her around, but will usually retire to his favorite spot. Cheetah is said to be afraid during car rides, and eats both wet and dry food in the Friskies brand. Cheetah usually sleeps in his cat bed, and is said to be unbothered if disturbed while sleeping. Behavior during Intake Cheetah was friendly during intake. She allowed collaring and handling with no problem. During Photo Cheetah got a bit restless and kept attempting to move, but allowed staff to correct her body and posture. Cheetah allowed all handling, and showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Reaction to assessor: Cheetah was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. She rolls on her back and rubs her cheeks on her bed when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Cheetah remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Cheetah head-butts, remains in place for petting, and starts to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Cheetah remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Cheetah hasn’t been around children or dogs, but is playful and affectionate with the cat she lives with. She can get a little rough when playing with the cat, but she hasn’t bit or scratched anyone or another animal. Cheetah was described as friendly, quiet, mellow, shy, and somewhat independent with a medium activity level. Behavior Determination: Average Cheetah interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
