CHECKER – A1051976
Safe 9-25-2015 Brooklyn
**SAFE 09/25/15** What do IKAT, CHECKER and DAMASK have in common? This little group of handsome kitties were all TRAPPED and brought to the ACC as strays on September 19th. The shelter has, as usual, warehoused them for a few days before putting them on tonight’s crowded euth list. IKAT earned a nice EXPNOCHILD rating and the public will be able to see him on the ACC website, but CHECKER and DAMASK are NEW HOPE ONLY and can only be foster/adopted by someone who works with a New Hope rescue group. Any questions, all you potential foster/adopters out there? Message the PODR/Urgent help desk at [email protected]. Otherwise, please pledge toward their care and share IKAT-CHECKER-DAMASK to safety, tonight!

09/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Checker was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment. At the time of the assessment Checker was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: becomes alert Reaction to touch: tries to avoid being touched, growls, hisses, strikes Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Checker due to fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
